Speed Up PC using Ready boost......

Ready boost is a new disk caching technology included in windows vista and higher version that uses flash memory to boost your system performance. This feature allows you to plug a USB flash memory device into a USB 2.0 port on a PC and use it as a cache or virtual memory. The advantage is that it is much faster to cache to the USB drive than caching to your hard disk, speeding up your system and enhancing overall performance. The USB device must be capable of 2.5 MB/sec through put for 4K random reads and 1.75 MB/sec for random write.

Then how to do it ????????  the answer is in below steps.....

1. This feature is available in Properties of the pen drive or in Auto run option of the pen drive
as shown below......

2. Next it leads to the pen drive property window with Ready boost tab as shown below...

3. Then click on the use this device after adjusting the space to be reserved for the speed. Then click on the
apply and ok and you can see the file with the extension .sfcache which is used for the system speed.

The point to be noticed is while the device is being used for system speed, the reserved space will not be available for the file storage.

To undo this process same steps but in Ready boost tab we have to click on the option "do not use this device".

Why do i need Antivirus software to tune my computer performance?

Before knowing the answer to the question above lets we know what makes the need of antivirus. What does these virus do? Lets know how does my application program run on my computer.

Application program is a piece of software or a program that performs the particular task satisfying the users desire. When you click on any application program first the instruction are get loaded in to the RAM(Random Access Memory). We can notice its operation by opening the task manager of windows. We can see the process of the application we are running in the task manager list. Let us take the example of VLC player. Think that you are running vlc player, playing some .avi file you can notice the vlc program process in task manager process list. As shown below. From this we can notice that.......

                    * Process occupy its own space on your RAM.
                    * The instruction of program on the RAM are executed in processor one by one performing the task specified to it.

Then how does the application program is related to the operating system? Operating system is also one of the program that also occupy the space on the RAM and executes its instructions in processor satisfying the user requirement. As we know this application programs are under this operating system( like Windows).
Point to be noticed about the operating system.
                    * It configures the hardware of your computer system.
                    * It maintains the memory management of the computer system.
                    * It run set of functions or a services which is referred by the application program to perform the operation.

Let us consider the working of VLC player
                  1. First when we click on VLC player the instruction of the program are loaded in to the RAM.
                  2. The instructions are executed one by one in processor.
                  3. The Player want to access the speaker and monitor to play the video does not do by itself but it go for the help of the operating system.
                  4. Operating system accepting the request provides the audio and video services to perform the operation.

Then how this program desides the computer performance.
                   >  Unwanted program running on your computer will affect the OS by improper interface with OS.
                   > It eats up the RAM space by reducing the space availability to other programs.

Therefore we should not install the unwanted program on our computer.

How does the virus affects the performance of our computer system?
The virus is also one of the process that affects the other process and copy itself to multiply and eats up the RAM space. Generally virus process acquires more RAM space and take over the control of OS thus disturbing all the system. More space acquiring on RAM results in RAM unavailability to other process thus slow  down our system performance. We can notice this change in task manager but few viruses disables the task manager to do its operations. Therefore we should have the Updated Antivirus software running on our computer system that maintains this task and removes the all unwanted process or virus process. Thus installing the Antivirus results in computer performance tunning.

Get Tuned Up by disabling the unwanted Startup programs.

Before knowing the way to disable the startup programs, lets know how startup programs slows down your computer system. Startup programs are those programs which get loaded in to memory
(RAM) as soon you Boot up with your Windows. As loading into the memory requires time it really slow down your Windows Startup. Lets us consider an example of Abode reader installed in your computer is there in the startup list, we really dont want this program to be in startup list.............We have to load the program when we need it. Thus unnecessary programs that simply load into the memory as we startup it really slows down the startup.

Steps to disable the start up programs..................
